ConstantClean™ Care
One of the key features of the cleaning cycle on Marquis Spas is the Vortex skimmer with the full filtration system that continuously cleans all of the water in your spa from top to bottom.

Water on the tub surface is skimmed off containing hair and contaminants such as body oils and lotions

The sullied water taken from the top and bottom of the tub flows into a filter cartridge in a swirling or vortex motion over the entire filter capturing and removing the most contaminants and particulates.

SmartClean™ recognizes when you’re using your hot tub and when you get out—which is the ideal time to begin a cleaning cycle.
SmartClean™ technology gives Marquis Spas a significant advantage over all other hot tubs that operate only on pre-set cleaning modes. These tubs run multiple cleaning cycles each day to compensate for not knowing when the tub is actually being used. Marquis Spas run fewer cleaning cycles, but at the critical times when the water needs to cleaned. As a result, your Marquis Spa uses less energy.
Marquis Spas also require less maintenance because they hold a 30-day supply of chemicals! While other hot tubs go through chemicals much quicker, Marquis Spas with SmartClean™ use chemicals very efficiently—never letting more chemicals in your water than necessary.
Total Water Management
Marquis Spas do not rely on over-use of chemicals to purify and treat your hot tub's water. Instead, Marquis incorporates a total water management system with SmartClean™ and ConstantClean™ working together to intelligently and thoroughly cleanse your spa's water from top to bottom.
The powerful Vortex skimmer system uses full filtration to remove oils, hair, dirt and many other impurities.
But that's not the end of Marquis' water care process!
After full filtration, the spa water is brought through Marquis' own built-in oxidation system where UV light oxidizes bacteria and other contaminants.
Water then passes through the in-line sanitation system adding a sufficient amount of disinfecting chemicals. Here the water also is treated with natural minerals, including a copper ion, which are beneficial to the skin and body. Now the clean and replenished water is ready to re-enter your spa.
Breathable Insulation
Any type of foam insulation in a hot tub is good, right? As long as there's lots of it? No, that's not true. In fact, many hot tub makers use the wrong kind of foam insulation. The right insulation used by Marquis Spas is Icynene© spray foam insulation with the highest R-value in the industry to better maintain hot water temperatures and keep your spa quiet.
Icynene© spray foam is considered an “open cell” or breathable insulation. Why is breathable better? Open cell insulation allows air to flow between cells. Moisture from humidity or condensation passes right through the cells—right through the insulation and out the hot tub. Open cell is the preferred insulation for the construction of homes and buildings in the Midwest where high temperatures and humidity can create moisture problems within walls. Breathable insulation removes moisture helping preserve the walls and better maintain temperatures within.
Other hot tub manufacturers use a high density, polyurethane foam insulation. This is a “closed cell” insulation that can't let moisture out. Trapped moisture builds up to cause mold and eventually a breakdown of the insulation. High density insulation is good for dryer, cold conditions like with freezers, but is very ineffective in the hot, humid conditions of a spa.
Built Most Dura-ble
All the amenities—everything you see and enjoy with your spa—last only as long as the quality of the tub's infrastructure. Along with all their other exceptional innovations, Marquis Spas excepts nothing less than the best built hot tub cabinet from bottom to top.
Some hot tub makers actually rely on the interior foam insulation to provide support for their tub—a sustainment that will fail as their polyurethane foam deteriorates. Marquis starts with a supporting wood framework for the spa platform. Wrapping the reinforced framework is a special wood-grained exterior developed by Marquis called DuraWood. The solid half-inch thick DuraWood wall is made of UV resistant synthetic material, yet is a very close emulator to wood including tongue and groove joints. DuraWood resists water damage, scratches and dents to retain its “like new” appearance longer than most exterior alternatives.
At the bottom of your tub is Marquis' exclusive DuraBase formed from a solid sheet of high-impact, textured ABS plastic. It's a material able to self-absorb the minor imperfections of the surface where the spa is sitting upon. DuraBase protects your Marquis Spa from nicks, dents, water damage and from outdoor pests.
As you climb in and lower your body for a hot soak, you're sitting in Marquis' own developed shell—contoured to the shape of your body from legs to neck. But it's more than looks and comfort. DuraShell® is an extremely durable Lucite® acrylic that stands up to the elements and resists cracking, fading or blistering. The majority of DuraShell® colors also have Microban® antimicrobial protection.
Keeping the spa's heat in and outdoor elements out is the Marquis DuraCover™. You'll appreciate this cover for its strength and safety rating if you have children and pets. The DuraCover is insulated with totally sealed foam—the finest certified two-pound density foam that can hold a hundred pounds more weight than a standard hot tub cover! Marquis' DuraCover also features an exclusive linear heat seal to further prevent heat loss when the cover is closed.
